Finally, Alligator Season is Open

Mississippi Alligator Season 2022 officially opened today. Unfortunately, we cannot get out there today, but we will be hunting alligators next week. Yesterday I purchased a shotgun case and spinning rod from Bass Pro Shop. The shotgun is required to be cased until the gator is in the snare and it is time to be dispatched. I also picked up a heavy-duty spinning rod and reel combo that we will be using with a treble hook to snag the gator and pull him or her up beside the boat. This weekend we are packing and making final preparations for our trip to Southwest Mississippi. I am going to go down Monday and stay the night with my best friend and a member of our hunting party. Tuesday my son and his friend (party alligator hunting expert) will come down and we will all head out to the camp we will be hunting out from. It is starting to get real now.
